 Services

Here is a list of our common services for your building project.  If there are any services that is not listed please feel free to contact us.  Thanks you!

1

Feasibility of energy Options study

Feasibility of energy options investigating fabric improvement options, low carbon technology and renewable technology. The study will be high level using energy modelling to establish the regulated energy use and carbon emissions from each improvements, comparing running cost to establish the options available and the benefits.  This report will not include any unregulated energy use.

2

Part L Compliance

Full Design Stage and As built stage SAP (residential) and SBEM (non-residential) calculations. Reports for Building Control submission for design stage and as built stage, PEAs and EPCs.

3

Energy Strategy

Energy Strategy for planning: Recommending fabric, low to zero carbon technologies, analysing the most appropriate solution to achieve the recommended carbon reduction target. This report is done inline with the local authorities guidelines.

4

Sustainability Statement

Report to summarise the sustainability credentials of the development (Phases 8.1 and 8.2) including Urban Greening Factor.
Provide sustainability input to other planning documents and advice to the design team.

5

Thermal Comfort Analysis

To carry out Thermal comfort analysis identify any overheating risks to the occupants during the peak summer periods using CIBSE TM59/TM52 criteria in conjunction with CIBSE weather files in accordance with Part O of Building Regulations for residential and TM52 for non-residential.

The assessment will use relevant guidelines, recommended data and assessment methodology. The report will include Thermal comfort analysis results and recommendations/advise for the zones including the common areas if district heating pipes are in those areas.

6

Thermal Bridging (Psi Value) calculations

Bespoke Thermal bridging calculations and condensation risk analysis of repetitive junctions within dwellings.  The calculation provides a mathmatical correction to the fabric heat loss providing an accurate calculation for SAP (Part L) for the building fabric elements such as walls, roofs, floors, window details etc.  The advantages of using bespoke figures in SAP calculations rather than default or approved details will increase the efficiency of the buildings energy use and reduce CO2 emissions as a result reducing the amount of renewable technology required to offset the CO2 footprint which overall reduces build/construction cost.  This will benefit the overall scheme and is recommended during the Design stage.

7

Daylight Study

Sunlight and Daylight analysis of the impact from the proposed development and impact on neighbouring properties.  Producing the results to meet criteria set out by BS8206 and BRE guides in accordance to Planning and CfSHs (additional credits) requirements. Recommending mitigation strategies to overcome any daylight impact from the proposed development.  The analysis includes 3D modelling of neighbouring properties.  Analysis is done within a radius of 3x height of proposed, looking at VSC impact on neighbouring properties & Overshading from development.  Daylight study can also be carried out using climate based daylight modelling.  (*Our study excludes carrying out laser survey on existing neighbouring properties).

8

Condensation Risk Analysis

Carry out condensation risk analysis using ISO 13788:2012 Glaser method for different construction types of the buildings.  This identifies any risk of condensation as required by the NHBC and PAS2035.

9

CIBSE TM54 assessment

Undertake operational energy modelling using the CIBSE TM54 methodology as part of the design process.

10

Retrofit Advise

With retrofitting becoming our biggest challenge, we can provide advice and recommendation in achieving the most cost effective energy efficiency upgrades.
